Dementia & Alzheimer's
We believe that clients should be able to enjoy comfortable, independent lives within their own homes. Therefore, we tailor our services to suit each person’s routine. What one person struggles with, another might handle quite easily.
People with Dementia and Alzheimer’s orientation and day to day memory can be challenging. For this reason, routine is important. A familiar, friendly face will help and support the daily routine.
Some of the most common symptoms our support workers can help you with are:
- Day-to-day memory. Our support workers will work with the family to find how to best support you.
- Limited problem solving. Our support workers present decisions to clients in a way which is sympathetic to their condition. We will never overwhelm anyone with choices.
- Change in appetite. A common symptom of dementia is a change in tastes or loss of appetite. Our inhouse training programme offers our support workers courses on food & hydration.
- Communication & Language. Finding the right words or understanding questions asked can be frustrating for those with dementia. All of our support workers have received comprehensive training on how best to communicate.
Our visits can provide respite for those that need a break from caring. We allow people to relax whilst they know their loved ones are being cared for.
Our staff are passionate about helping our clients maintain their confidence, independence and lifestyle. We believe in seeing the whole person and not just the condition. We will talk to you and your family to find out what is important to you and establish what you would like to achieve from your care and support.
